Newport

This house sits above the cliff facing due east, with spectacular views north and south along the coast. The house has been designed to follow the steep contours of the site and is spread over three levels. The garden was an integral part of the project and was completed prior to the house being built.

The main living areas are positioned around a large covered deck and a small courtyard, to allow all rooms to take advantage of the ocean view and offer flexibility for different weather conditions.

The materials help define the architectural form from the heavier masonry materials that anchor the house to the ground to the more light-weight timber framed pavilions and ‘floating’ roofs above.

This house offers a huge range of accommodation whilst appearing quite modest and compact on the site.
