This first-floor apartment located in one of Sydney’s many beautiful harbour-side bays combined two separate art deco apartments to form a single residence for two people and a wonderful art and book collection. The original building is located on a corner and enjoys leafy views toward the harbour. The owners wanted to retain the old-world charm of the existing building and create a welcoming and open home to relax, entertain, work.
This project joined two neighbouring apartments to form a single residence consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry, study, library and rearranging the existing rooms to make an open plan kitchen, dining and living room.
The renovation was a total make-over including re-designing the existing bathrooms, installing new engineered oak floors throughout, reinstating original plaster cornices and timber skirtings, and providing new bespoke joinery throughout – to create a tailor-made home combining the best of old and new.
