Our London-based client wanted to open the rooms to the views and breezes of Sydney Harbour and the bright Australian light, while the selected furnishings and fittings are pure European luxury.
This 1940s apartment underwent an extensive renovation to give it a contemporary makeover, without losing the elegance and detail of the original architecture. The palette of materials includes natural stone, stained oak parquetry floors, inlaid carpets with soft furnishings of linen and velvet.
Plaster cornices and mouldings were matched and reinstated, skirtings and architraves were restored and fixtures and fittings were updated throughout. The design was led by our client’s desire for finishes and detail to compliment the original Art Deco building.
